William Young, Senior Equipment Maintenance TechnicianContact InformationBill Young is the Equipment and Process Support Technician for the CNST NanoFab Operations Group. Bill received an AS degree in Electronics Engineering in 1989. From 1989-1995 he worked as field service representative supporting a unique electronic systems utilized by the Department of Defense. Bill subsequently became lead technical representative servicing remote duty stations in the Arctic and wrote several technical manuals and trained others on supporting the unique equipment. In 1995 he joined National Semiconductor and received factory training from world class semiconductor equipment manufactures in Diffusion, CVD, PVD, ETCH and gas detection. In 1996 Bill became Lead Sr. Equipment Support Technician responsible for focusing a team of technicians efforts for optimum productivity in a production environment with changing demands. In 2000 he was appointed Emergency Response Team coordinator of a team consisting of 30 members. In 2001 he moved to Covega Corporation during its initial startup phase and was initially tasked with acquiring, qualifying and installing the equipment needed to manufacture semiconductor lasers. Bill was promoted to Manufacturing Engineer responsible for the development and qualification of new processes in accordance with ISO 9001 compliance. This work effort included fine tuning the process to increase yields and cycle-time reduction. In 2006 he developed a new product for Intel’s Telecom division. In 2007 Bill joined the CNST team and is primarily responsible for maintaining more than 45 advanced systems used by the CNST NanoFab and to also provide functional process support and training for several of these systems. |
