Permanent Employment Opportunities

The recently established Center for Nanoscale Science and Technology (CNST) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (Gaithersburg, MD) is initiating a major new research program aimed at developing advanced nanoscale measurement and fabrication methods to enable all phases of nanotechnology from discovery to production. Over the next year, we expect to add several dozen new research positions to our multidisciplinary Center. We seek exceptional scientists and engineers with strong records of creativity and achievement in the development of nanoscale measurement and fabrication methods, e.g., nanolithography, scanned probe microscopy, electron microscopy, modeling and simulation, 3D characterization, measurement of nanoscale electrical, magnetic, and mechanical properties, etc. It is important that applicants be able to interact with multiple disciplines and present their programs effectively to a variety of audiences. The new research programs will interface with and build upon extensive NIST programs for electrical, magnetic, chemical, physical, optical, and biological nanoscale measurement and standards. For additional details about the new CNST and its Nanofab facility, please visit: http://cnst.nist.gov.

We invite expressions of interest in working at CNST. CVs will be accepted on a continuous basis and may be sent by e-mail to: CNSTJobs@nist.gov.

The Department of Commerce is an Equal Opportunity Employer. US citizenship is required.
