Recruitment Announcement

COMPUTATIONAL MODELING OF SCANNING TUNNELING MICROSCOPY

The recently established Center for Nanoscale Science and Technology (CNST) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (Gaithersburg, MD) has an immediate postdoctoral opening in computational modeling of scanning tunneling microscopy. CNST is developing a research program in modeling atoms and molecules on surfaces and their interaction with a scanning tunneling microscope probe. This computational program will interact closely with the ongoing experimental effort in low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy. We seek a research scientist with a strong record of experience in computational surface science. It is important that applicants be able to interact with researchers practicing multiple disciplines, especially those involved in related experimental and theoretical efforts, and present effectively their programs to a variety of audiences. For additional details about CNST, please visit: http://cnst.nist.gov.

To qualify, candidates must have a Ph.D. in science or engineering with experience in computational surface science. To apply, CVs should be sent by e-mail to Mark Stiles at mark.stiles@nist.gov.
